Local History Library

Cracknell & Lonergan are offering their local history library collection as a community reference resource to students, professionals and members or organizations of the local community.

The library comprises of a specific collection of related references – rare and/or out of print as well as current items including local histories and biographies; directories; conservation, heritage and restoration references; Australians architecture, landscape, town planning and furniture design; Australian art.

An objective of the collection is to include references that addresses aspects of the history, traditions and contemporary culture of Aboriginal society. [1]

The local histories are generally limited to NSW, especially Sydney, South Sydney and suburbs. The library aims to organise NSW regional references and Sydney suburbs into Aboriginal countries as a reference plan.

The collection is housed in a reading room at the Cracknell & Lonergan offices. It is non-lending and non-profit.

Photocopying is available. Appointment preferable.
